relationships: the war hounds
the war hounds.
Joshua LaRue
She knows him best from the way he used to handle himself in her class: seated at the back, blue eyes up and center and only occasionally dropping to check something on his tablet or take notes. He seems to have applied that quiet, perfect focus to everything he is doing now, and to the people he cares the most about. It has taken him far, and also placed him right beside the person she failed to be with - but that is her fault, she knows it now, and she's grateful to Joshua LaRue for finishing what she had never really started.
Yulia Bostova
She has not been able to speak to Yulia all that much, but Deirdra, Cisco, Tala, and Kalika all have. If her surrogate sister, her sister-in-law, and two people whom she loves and respects very highly say that the Bladian of the War Hounds is a fine hunter and an excellent person, then it's probably true.
Estanislao Marisigan III
She heard about Taning's case from Elias, actually. What struck her the most was the fact that even though Elias was talking about Taning, it felt as though Aria was watching Gio Malaahas talk about letting his brother and his parents go all over again.
Brigade
One would think that, as the Living Land, Aria would not be able to stand someone - something - like Brigade. Gaea's state is the state of things, or so Thyrsus Mages, especially they who embody Gaea's will, and anything that openly defies that state is a blight upon the rest of existence. But that is where Aria has always been different from Rilea, for before she was the Living Land, she was simply one of the Awakened. Her own experiences, as well, have taught her how to look past the layers and towards what really matters in a person. She sees a lot of that in this one.
Brianna Lopez
Given how terrible things had been and their respective loyalties a few months back, Aria had been prepared to be hated, perhaps lifetimes, by this girl. Imagine, then, her pleasant surprise when Brianna actually agreed to help Michael Lamont, and eventually came around to her class to see them both, not just the child. They've spoken recently in a dream; Brianna has told her about Arcadia. Aria hopes that this departure won't end up being permanent.
Kaz Zobel de Ayala
Neeka's darling grandson, and the baby of the kids and adults in the Pack. She really, really likes Kaz, and never thought ill about any of his decisions - he was thrust into an impossible situation with the Wings, in her opinion, and handled himself rather well for a boy as young as he is. They don't get to talk nearly as much as she would like, but perhaps that's understandable: she knows where his loyalties lie.
